  • I started my hotel career as a bell boy at the Kempinksi Hotel “Vier Jahreszeiten” in Munich. From there I moved on to the world famous 5* Brenner’s Park Hotel, Baden-Baden where I was trained in service, kitchen and reception. If you should ever see or get a chance to go to the Black Forest, you have to visit Baden-Baden. It is such a wonderful place.
  • I then decided to come to England professionally for the first time and I went to the University of Surrey, Guildford, reading a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel and catering management. These most enjoyable 3 years were the founding for my love for England.
  • Between then and the day I moved to Lymington, I worked in various places, among them the fabulous 5* Chewton Glen Hotel & Country Club, New Milton, where I was the Assistant Manager to Peter Crome. Other stops were Mövenpick Restaurants, Hanover, the Savoy Hotel, Cologne and Hollington House Hotel in Newbury.
  • In 2000, I decided to set up my own business and I very happily found Britannia House, here in Lymington, historically and architecturally a real gem. Unbelievable, but true, it was the very first house I looked at in my search for the perfect house in a prime location. Have a look at the pictures and judge for yourself.

Britannia House is a very unique and special place in which you feel "home" from the very second. It is lovely decorated, spotless clean and has a very warm atmosphere. The location is perfect as you are in walking distance to the shopping streets as well as to restaurants and the haven. The owner Tobi and his friend Fabienne are always looking out to give you best recommandation, no matter if you choose to take long walks, take the bike, car or bus/train. I stayed at the Britannia House for 5 days and had a hard time leaving this lovely place. Thank you very much for the hospitality! See you soon!

It's not often, that places where we stay exceed our expectations, but in the case of Britannia House, we were more than pleasantly surprised with the quality and standard of this establishment. The rooms are of an extremely high standard and are spotlessly clean, the breakfast is fresh wholesome and offers a wide range of healthy and not so healthy choices, all of which are delicious. And last but not least, the host goes out of his way to make you feel welcome, ensure that you're comfortable, and provide assistance to ensure that your stay in the New Forest is truly memorable. We can highly recommend this B&B unreservedly.

Thank you so very much for all your kindness and hospitality to Linda and I during our stay. I can honestly say that Britannia House is exceptional and excellent, and I would recommend anyone to visit. The breakfasts you provided were superb, the rooms were luxurious, beautifully and tastefully decorated and your hospitality was second to none. I have put a 5 out of 5 review on Trip Advisor but feel free to put my comments on your new website if you would like to...Once again a huge thank you and we hope to see you in the future. Kind regards.
