  • I started my hotel career as a bell boy at the Kempinksi Hotel “Vier Jahreszeiten” in Munich. From there I moved on to the world famous 5 star Brenner’s Park Hotel, Baden-Baden where I was trained in service, kitchen and reception. If you should ever get a chance to go to the Black Forest, you have to visit Baden-Baden. and must pop into Brenner's Park Hotel where the English footballers' wifes tayed during the World Cup 2006. It is such a wonderful place.
  • I then decided to come to England professionally for the first time and I went to the University of Surrey, Guildford, reading a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel and catering management. These most enjoyable 3 years were the founding for my love for England.
  • Between then and the day I moved to Lymington, I worked in various places, among them the fabulous 5star Chewton Glen Hotel & Country Club, New Milton, where I was the Assistant Manager to Peter Crome. Other stops were Mövenpick Restaurants, Hanover, the Savoy Hotel, Cologne and Hollington House Hotel in Newbury.
  • In 2000, I decided to set up my own business and I very happily found Britannia House here in Lymington, historically and architecturally a real gem. Unbelievable, but true, it was the very first house I looked at in my search for the perfect house in a prime location. Have a look at the pictures and judge for yourself.
  • On the 1 June 2009 I got married to a wonderful Swiss at Highcliffe Castle, Christchurch, 20 minutes driving distance from here and a must see during your stay at Britannia House. Use this link if you would like to see our wonderful wedding & venue.
  • This year, 2010, marks the year of my 10th anniversary here in Lymington and I feel privileged to live in such a beautiful house, town and part of the world.
  • Also, I am very proud to say that I have been awarded the highest ratings of 5 stars by VisitBritain for the 10th consecutive year and been voted into the Good Hotel Guide for the 6th consecutive year.  At the independant Trip Advisor we are ranked No.1 out of 17 Bed & Breakfasts in Lymington.
  • Self speaking I will not stop to trying to improve my facilities and service. If you have any constructive and feasible suggestions and feedback, please do not hesitate to let me know at tobi@britannia-house.com.
