Fifty vehicles used in the films are on display to mark fifty years of Bond on the big screen.

Former Bond girls Eunice Gayson, Britt Ekland, Jenny Hanley and Madeleine Smith opened the exhibition, which is the largest of its kind the world has ever seen.

‘Bond in Motion’ features cars, motorbikes, boats, jets, sleds, and much more besides...

Among the star attractions are the silver 1964 Aston Martin DB5 used in Goldfinger, and the amphibious Lotus Esprit S1 from The Spy Who Loved Me.

Princess Anne attended on September 20^th when she named the new yacht of Hampshire ocean sailor Mike Golding.

The yacht, named Gamesa, is the one Mike hopes will help him win the Vendee Globe Round the World Yacht Race; arguably the toughest race of them all.

The champagne bottle failed to break on the first occasion, which is traditionally a bad omen.

But Mike didn’t mind, saying he was proud that his new Yacht had been officially named by the Princess Royal.

The New Forest Marathon -  25 September 2011
The Half Marathon starts at 09:30am followed by the Full Marathon at 10:00am. The event generates over £50,000 each year for good causes. 

A Lymington father and son have won the biggest ever Round the Island Race in difficult conditions.

Phillip and Jo Hutchinson crewed Sundowner to victory along with Nick Rogers and Nathan Wilmot, to claim the Gold Roman Bowl – awarded for the best corrected time after handicaps are calculated.

A record 1,908 competitors battled 30 knot winds and 20 foot waves during the 50 mile race, with 1,303 actually finishing the course around the Isle of Wight.

Among the 436 boats forced to retire was that of world famous yachtswoman Dame Ellen MacArthur.

Rescuers were kept busy throughout the day with Solent Coastguard logging 75 incidents during the race, smashing the previous record of 42.
